“He will change the bodies we have in this humble state and make them like his glorious body, using the power which enables him to bring everything under his control.”
Devotion:
I love watching makeover shows. I love seeing people who see themselves in a certain way break down in tears when they get a look at the potential they never imagined lived inside of them. Of course, today, so many people are displeased with what they see in the mirror, they go to outrageous and sometimes gruesome lengths to change the way they look, cutting, lifting, sculpting … But those who belong to God will be getting the most amazing makeover of all. When Jesus returns for His bride, our weak, flawed bodies will be changed instantly into glorious, eternal perfection! And it won’t require a makeup artist or surgeon, for the One who is returning for us has the power to manipulate matter. And why not? He created it! And no one can match His work.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I know You see me as You created me to be, perfect. But You know this body has been through a lot in my short time on earth. I love You so much for transforming me on the inside, but I will rejoice all the more when You transform me on the outside, too. Never to be apart from You, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
