Hmm. I wonder which church that is….
I was in the midst of a vision during midday prayer, looking at a church building—hanging upside down in mid-air. As I pondered, two huge hands came out of Heaven, took the church on either side, and started shaking it violently up and down, which was amusing until people began dropping out of the church. It was then that I realized the weight of what I was seeing.
Having earned the dubious title of troublemaker (though I prefer non-conformist) in more than a few churches, I wanted a little reassurance at this point, so I asked, “Lord, that’s You doing the shaking, right?”
“Yes,” He said, “it is me doing the shaking—through YOU!”
I had to ask…
As a not so subtle reminder, some weeks later, prophetic evangelist, John Mark Pool visited our fair town, only to confirm what I was trying to forget…
“You are literally a true dream seer, a prophetic voice for God. And you are a stranger in that element in a strange land. Because it’s an area that’s been used to so many rudiments and traditions of man, doctrines of man and doctrines of demons, and when you uproot, overturn tables in the temple, which you have, then it’s a little bit of an affront to those who don’t want to do that because they like business as usual, and you’re not business as usual. You’re way far not business as usual.” John Mark Pool – 2/19/2017
Yea, me…And now this church has my number, too!
Don’t get me wrong. Some people love stirring the pot and creating drama…I’m not one of those. I much prefer peace and harmony to anger and hostility. Apparently, being a church darling isn’t in the cards for me this earth age. I just keep telling myself, I’ll be in good company in Heaven.
As I prayed into these words from the Lord, particularly this “shaking,” I remembered my assignment in Amos, and the series I began called “The Warning Before the Earthquake.” This warning was given to Amos two years before one of the worst earthquakes in history. It has been three years since I received my Amos assignment. I wondered at the time of this assignment if this was a warning of an actual earthquake or a spiritual shaking. Maybe it’s both, I don’t know. I do know this:
The shaking has begun in the spirit realm.
The Lord is shaking together teams around the world. Obedient saints, willing vessels to be conduits for the Holy Spirit. These groups will move in power, changing the atmosphere and retaking ground usurped by the enemy.
We are seeing that already in our area. Especially in the youth. Spiritual gifts are awakening like never before. I personally am having dreams, visions, visitations, and prophetic words with such frequency I hardly have time to commit them to the page!
So, what does this shaking mean for the church?
It is time to cleanse the Temple!
The Spirit of God is bringing down the idols in His house. The spirit of pride will no longer be tolerated in the house of the Lord—neither in the pulpit, nor in the pews.
“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble” James 4:6.
Nor will the spirits of fear, offense, perversion, rebellion, or lies.
“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” Revelation 21:8.
Those who have called themselves “Christians” but have refused to fully submit themselves to the Lord, will either be on their faces before the King of Kings in repentance, or will be out the door.
No one will stand in the presence of Adonai. And I’m talking about the physical presence, here, not some obscure concept of the presence of God.
Those who have decided for themselves what part they play in the body of Christ, whether it be pastor, evangelist, missionary, worship leader, teacher, or grounds keeper, will be convicted under the power of the Holy Spirit, and those who have the wisdom to repent, will receive their true anointing, and will walk in power and love. Those who choose to kick against the goads…out the door.
Those who have elevated themselves shall be brought low, and those who have been tread underfoot, the Lord God will raise up to new heights and place in positions of leadership and authority. Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord!
Those who have warmed the benches for years and generations, waiting for Jesus to come back and save them from the evils of the world will find themselves in the hot seat.
“For you have not been called to warm benches, but to take back the land!” declares the Lord. “I saved you two thousand years ago! What are you waiting for?
“Hardened hearts will cause many to “drop out” of the church, but do not be concerned. I AM concentrating my power and glory in My obedient servants. To them I say, Arise! Shine! For the glory of the Lord is risen upon you! My light will go out from you and will not be extinguished! Press into Me! Focus on Me! Worship Me! And I will give you the nations in due time, for they will be drawn to My light in you!
“I AM pouring out new anointing and bestowing new mantels to those who seek My face, who strive for My presence. No man can do this. I and only I do this thing, and I will confirm it through my prophets.
“See that you press in and do not allow the spirit of distraction to turn your head and rob you of your inheritance. Do not run after every cry of distress or plea for help, but harken only to My voice, for the adversary is working overtime to draw you from the path I have set before you.”
It is a great time to be alive, children of the living God! Yes, it is a time of great shaking and upheaval, but rest assured,
“If you will return, O Israel,” says the Lord,
“Return to Me;
And if you will put away your abominations out of My sight,
Then you shall not be moved” Jeremiah 4:1.
Now is the time to humble ourselves before the Lord, beloved. There is not a Christian on the face of the earth who should not be on their face before the throne of God. There is not one servant of God who has risen to a position of equality with El Shaddai.
Let us empty ourselves of all carnal, soulish, deceit. That the Spirit of our most holy God may indwell us fully and completely. That we may become vessels of His glory, power, and love, pouring ourselves out on a world that so desperately needs it.
To God be the glory forever and ever! Amen!
