Blessings!
Today’s Promise is John 8:29 NKJV:
“And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”
Devotion:
Do you want to have God with you all the time? Jesus tells us here just how to make that happen. Always do those things that please Him. This begs the question, what happens when we do those things that don’t please God? The implication is that He departs from us. Though the Bible tells us what pleases God, always doing these things may seem impossible. But there is good news. Some of the things that please God are repentance and humility. When we do slip up, if we are quick to repent, we can be sure God will stay with us. What’s more, it is His very Spirit in us who empowers us to do this and all the things that please God. That is how much He wants to be with us.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, let my every thought, word, and deed be pleasing to You, in Jesus’ name, and help me quickly repent when I miss the mark, that I may walk with You as Jesus did. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
