Promise of the Day: Children of Light

ALL

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Ephesians 5:8-12 CJB:

For you used to be darkness; but now, united with the Lord, you are light. Live like children of light, for the fruit of the light is in every kind of goodness, rightness and truth — try to determine what will please the Lord. Have nothing to do with the deeds produced by darkness, but instead expose them, for it is shameful even to speak of the things these people do in secret.

ALL

Devotion:

Wow. That sounds harsh. But, as a candle dispels darkness, revealing what is hidden, so the Holy Spirit dispels confusion and ignorance and reveals sin, showing us what is true and right. We did not receive the Light of the World to blend into the world, but to expose the “unfruitful works of darkness” and draw others to the Light. We do this not by judgment and condemnation, but by walking in the Light. Not condoning or accepting sinful behaviors, but lovingly speaking the truth, releasing the Light of the Lord into the darkness–welcomed or not.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Light, revealing the darkness in me, that I may repent and be Your light in a dark world. Fill me with Your Spirit in Jesus’ name, and make me a beacon, Lord, that I may draw others to Your Light.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
