Promise of the Day: I AM with You

Life on the Fringe

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Matthew 28:20 NIV:

“…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Life on the Fringe

Devotion:

Jesus spoke these words to His disciples just after issuing the Great Commission. Then, shortly afterwards, Jesus ascended to Heaven to sit at the Father’s right hand. So, if Jesus went to Heaven, how can He be with us always? Was He speaking figuratively? No. In verse 17, Jesus tells us that ALL authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Him, which is what it means to sit at God’s right hand. Power and authority. God’s power and authority were released to us by Jesus’ work on the cross, and they abide in us in the person of the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus promised to send. If the Holy Spirit is with us, Jesus is with us. And if Jesus is with us, God is with us. Because these three are One. Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. And, with the great I AM with you, nothing is impossible.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, how blessed I am  to walk in Your presence. To have Your power and authority enabling me to share Your goodness and make disciples of all nations. I know I would never be able to do this without You. Help me abide in You, Lord, in Jesus’ name, following Your leading, that I may be all You created me to be. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
