Today’s Promise is John 15:16 CJB:
“You did not choose me, I chose you; and I have commissioned you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last; so that whatever you ask from the Father in my name he may give you.“
Devotion:
There is nothing random about our God. He knew what He was doing from the beginning, removing all doubt as to our calling. If you have felt your need for a Savior, and have trusted Jesus to forgive your sins and make you a new creation, know that it was because the Lord created you with a purpose. Before you were ever conceived, He chose you to love, to bless, and to be love and a blessing in the world. In fact, Jesus follows this promise with the words, “This is what I command you: keep loving each other!” Knowing the favor and grace the Lord has shown us, should make this all the more easy.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing me! I know I don’t deserve Your love or favor, but it is by Your grace alone that I have been blessed with a restored relationship with You. Let me never forget that when it comes to loving others. Let me never forget Your grace, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
