Promise of the Day: The Righteous

Victory is Ours!

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Psalm 34:17 NIV:

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.”

Devotion:

I don’t know about you, but I want the Lord to hear me when I call. So then, who are the righteous, and how do I become one? The best answer to that comes to us in Genesis 15:6, where Abraham was counted righteous because “he believed.” To truly believe in the sovereign God is to believe that, even before we know what to pray, He has seen our need and taken action on our behalf. That is why we are commanded to give thanks in all things. That is why God commanded Israel to establish celebrations of His faithful provision long before they set foot in the Promised Land. In other words, the righteous know, beyond a doubt, that God is God, and everything and everyone are in His hands. And they love Him for it!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, even in my darkest hours, I give thanks to You! I see and know only a fraction of Your plan, but that is enough, because I know You have one. And it is for my best, that I may glory in You. Thank You for delivering me, even before I call. Thank You for the privilege of knowing You and being known by You. Thank You for Your undying love. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
