Blessings Friends!
Earlier this month we were saddened by the brutal murders of 147 and injuries of 79 Christian students by al-Shabab militants in Garissa, Kenya. I don’t know what kind of coverage the attack received in the news, as we don’t watch the news. I believe the press is geared toward keeping people in a perpetual state of fear. Fearful people are easily manipulated. History will bear that out.
“The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.” Proverbs 29:25
I no longer live according to man’s reality. I choose to live and operate according to the realities of the Kingdom of God, revealed by The Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
This shift in my perspective didn’t happen overnight. It is a process of learning to trust Him. Take this blog for instance. When God first told me to start WatchGodWork.com and “Teach My Word,” I was bedridden, recovering from cancer surgery and struggling to purge my system of horrific amounts of narcotics. My first response to this commission was, “Who am I? No one has ever listened to me. Why would they start now?”
But God doesn’t call us by who we think we are. God calls us by what He created us to be. And most of the time, the two are very different.
So, what does this have to do with the news or Kenya? Had I not trusted in God’s vision of who I am four years ago, absolutely nothing. But I did, and as a result I’ve had the privilege of hearing from and praying for believers from all over the world.
I want to introduce you to two of those precious partners in God’s Kingdom now. I was blessed to hear from this Kenyan pastor and his wife earlier this year, and have had the privilege of partnering with them in prayer and friendship to bring revival to Africa and the U.S. He has given me permission to share one of his emails with you, but for their safety, I am omitting their names. I wish I could share some of the pictures of their meetings, too, but I don’t want to compromise anyone’s safety. The picture below is one I found online.
While the press is quick to report the seeming victories of the enemy, I want you to know what God is doing in Kenya. You won’t see this in the news.
Dear Rebecca,
Hello and praise Jesus! How are you doing? What of your family and Gracie?
I came back very late yesterday night from the mission.
It’s so good we give God all thanks and the glory for His doings.
In total, 26 souls came to Jesus [at] Saturdays revival and during Sunday service. They came forward shedding tears and unquenchable move of the Holy Spirit gripped people’s hearts for hours.
After the sermon, I made an altar call with power and boldness. Three young men came forward first, then another group of five followed then another group, etc.
Then it was followed by unending powerful prayers of healing and deliverance.
It was so powerful.
Revival meeting was extended almost at 4:00am our E. African time.
Then we held our power packed Sunday service “under a tree” worshipping God under acacia tree, with many sitting on dusty ground.
We bless the Lord because of having you on our side, God is touching and transforming lives in remotest and poorest areas in our country.
Please continue praying that the Lord will bless and that we will be able to help build iron Structure for this church.
May God richly bless you.
This is only one of this pastor’s glory reports! God is moving in a miraculous way in Kenya! Please join me in lifting these precious people in prayer for the continued flow of The Holy Spirit, for provision, protection, and blessing.
The enemy would love to keep you focused on gloom and doom. On your failures and insecurities. But things are very different from God’s perspective. The resurrection of Jesus Christ shifted the very fabric of reality, and we are called to walk in God’s reality.
You are NOT who you think you are! Do you want to know who you really are and what you are capable of? Ask The One who made you. He wants to show you!
Heavenly Father,
I bind and rebuke the spirit of blindness afflicting your people, in the name of Jesus Christ! I bind the deaf and dumb spirit, and the spirits of fear and pride that keep your Church from hearing your voice! In the name of Jesus, I loose the power of The Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of your children. Show them who You really are, Lord, and who they really are in You! In the mighty name of Jesus, I break the chains that bind The Body of Christ and keep her from fulfilling her destiny! And, Father, I thank You and give You the glory for the authority to walk in Your reality, and the faith to trust You. Amen!
God’s grace and peace be yours,
Rebecca
