Promise of the Day: Listen, Believe, Act

Hearing God's Voice

Today’s Promise is Acts 3:22, 23 CJB:

For Moshe himself said, ‘Adonai will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You are to listen to everything he tells you. Everyone who fails to listen to that prophet will be removed from the people and destroyed.'”

The prophet spoken of by Moses was Jesus. Peter had just given something he had to the lame man at the Beautiful Gate, and suddenly, the man was healed! And, as they say, the crowd went wild! What did Peter give the man? That is what he is explaining to the crowd. The something was faith. Faith that everything Jesus told him was true. He reminds them that the Lord, God, commanded them through the prophets, long before Jesus was born, to listen to every word He would tell them. There’s that word again, listen. And, as Peter demonstrated, true listening is the catalyst that sets off a chain reaction of belief in action as the Word of God becomes not just what we believe, but who we are.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son to teach me and lead me in the way that glorifies You. Let Your Word become a greater part of me each day, in Jesus’ name, and help me to be not just a hearer of Your Word, but a doer. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
