Promise of the Day: Predestined for Greatness

Take Your Seat

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is 2 Timothy 1:8-9 NKJV:

“Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.”

Devotion:

Just before this, Paul reminds Timothy that the Spirit God gives us does not produce fear, but power, love, and self-discipline. It is in submitting to that Spirit, that we have the strength to endure all things for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And to continue proclaiming that Gospel boldly and fearlessly. It amazes me to know that He equipped us to do what He called us to do! And extremely humbling that we were chosen to do it before time began. We were predestined for greatness. And there is no shame in that.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, my heart swells when I think that You chose me of all people to proclaim your awesome goodness. I know nothing I have done made You choose me, it was only by Your grace. Help me to be worthy of my calling, Lord, that You may be glorified in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
