Blessings Friends!
This morning as I was waiting on the Lord, He said to me,
“I am going to release something new to My church. But, in order to receive it, they must let go of everything they believe and trust in. I want to take My people to the next level, but they can’t come if they are hanging on to the past.”
How exciting is this? Yet, I was immediately reminded of those who are so entrenched in the tradition of religion that they will refuse this awesome gift. God has not given us a spirit of fear, yet so many believers live with one. Fear of the unknown.
“Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are true and faithful.'” Revelation 21:5
This isn’t just what Jesus will do at the millennium. This is His nature! Our wonderful, creative King, Who is constantly revealing Himself to His children in new and exciting ways! Amen? I don’t know about you, but I want as much of Him as He is willing to reveal to me!
If you want to receive what God is releasing in this season, I encourage you to make time to seek Him. I have a prayer room for just this purpose. I rise early each morning, offering the first fruits of my day to worship and wait on Him. I spend an hour singing praises to Him and digging into His Word, and then I spend an hour before Him on my face, soaking in His presence and listening for His voice.
This is how I defeat the spirit of fear. The more time I spend in the presence of my Shepherd, the more able I am to discern between His voice and any other voice.
Your time with the Lord may not look exactly like this. The important thing is that you leave everything at the door and focus solely on Him. This takes practice for most of us, but it is so worth it.
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
Believe me, I know what it is to want the comfort of the familiar. It feels safe, secure. But God is asking us to step out of our comfort zones, that He might reveal more of Himself to us–and to the world through us!
Is it scary? Yes. But God is faithful and dependable. He is our security. Everything else is just an illusion.
I encourage you today to step away from the known and step into God, arms wide open to receive the unknown. The NEW. And when you receive your NEW, don’t keep it to yourself! Share what the Lord is releasing in your life, that others may be blessed with greater faith as well!
God’s grace and peace be yours,
Rebecca
