Blessings Family,
I have to share with you a dream I was given early this morning.
I dreamed I went to church with my family. It was a very small, crowded room. In fact, we were squeezing into the front row, which was pressed up against the pulpit.
There were some people there who had refused Christ because they were so angry with God about circumstances in their lives. Now they sat, humbled and contrite, and ready to receive God’s Word.
The pastor joked with me, that he often got “carried away” when he preached and hoped he didn’t step or fall on us. I told him it was all right, as long as he didn’t fall out of the big windows behind him.
That’s when I realized that our meeting place was raised up above ground level. I looked out the windows, on the city below, and was shocked to see the burned out ruins of a city. Buildings reduced to rubble, some burned to the ground. Realizing my shock and horror, the pastor said, “That’s nothing. You should see the churches.”
He took me instantly to ground level, where we walked through a graveyard of church ruins. It looked like the set of a WWII movie. Nothing was left standing but parts of brick walls. There were some men trying desperately to mortar broken brick together, but I could tell even they knew it was useless.
I had a strong sense of one building being a Catholic Church, which makes sense, since Constantine usurped the authority of Christ as head of Christianity, organizing the church according to the paganistic traditions of man. I’m not saying Catholicism was the only denomination brought to ruins. It just represented organized religion. Specifically, Christianity as we know it today.
I was also aware that people had walked through these ruins and set broken bricks on what was left of the walls, as is Jewish custom, when visiting a grave, setting a stone on a grave marker.
This destruction was the result of a great shaking and upheaval of the church, and the pastor was Jesus himself. The few who knew Him intimately and had humbly submitted to Him were raised us above the destruction, being taught at Jesus’ feet, just as His disciples were. It was a wonderful, joyful place, but I got the impression that the people who sat humbled and sober had come up after being shaken. And my heart ached for those below, unable to let go of tradition and embrace God’s Truth. Trying piece together what they had held so dear for so long.
Let us strive now to know our Lord and Savior, deeply and intimately. Letting go of all preconceived notions of who He is and embracing His Truth, as a child embraces a new found friend. And, knowing Him, let us help others find that same joy, that, when the great shaking comes, we will be lifted up with our Lord.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name” Psalm 91:14 NKJV.
Heavenly Father, have mercy on us! Holy Spirit, move the hearts of Your children to repentance, that we might be saved from the day of God’s wrath! Sanctify us for the latter rain, and prepare us for the harvest! In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
God’s grace and peace be yours,
Rebecca
