Today’s Promise is Deuteronomy 8:6-7 NKJV:
“Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land.”
Devotion:
For Israel, this good land was Canaan. For us it is so much more exciting–His Kingdom, not only here on earth, but in Heaven as well! Jesus died that His Glory may dwell in us more fully than it did Moses! But, just as it was for Israel, the path to this good land is obedience. In fact the root of the word, Canaan, means “to be humbled.” In order to be filled with His presence, we must be emptied of ourselves. Are you entering into the good land?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for making it possible for me to keep Your commandments through the power of Your Holy Spirit! I receive that power! I want to walk in Your presence constantly, Lord, in Jesus’ name, so please help me choose You. Every minute, every day. Amen!
