Today’s Promise is Habakkuk 1:5 NKJV:
“Look among the nations and watch—
Be utterly astounded!
For I will work a work in your days
Which you would not believe, though it were told you.”
Devotion:
As we look at the state the world is in today, it seems sanity has abandoned us, and we have been caught up in a whirlpool of disfunction. Evil behavior is praised as good, and Godly values are scorned and even punished by law. As Habakkuk did, we cry out to God, “When will you save us from this evil?”
But our Lord is no more blind to the state of His creation now as He was then. God is moving on our behalf. But we must have faith, and understand that God’s plans seldom look like we think they should. Sometimes it seem like things are getting worse! Don’t let what you see and hear steal your peace. Though His people go through the shaking, if we humble ourselves and repent, He is faithful to bring us through. Stand firm in your faith and rest in God at all times.
Don’t stop praying for God’s intervention, and remember to thank Him for it as well. Even if it doesn’t look like we expect, it will be astounding!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts. Your ways are higher than my ways. I know you hate evil even more than I do, and I know You are faithful to the faithful. I ask in Jesus’ name that You move on on my behalf and restore our nation through Your righteous Son. Invade me with Your Spirit, Lord, and help me to keep the faith, regardless of how things look. Knowing that You alone are in control. Amen.
