Blessings!
Today’s Promise is John 6:35 NKJV:
“And Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.'”
Devotion:
Bread that remains on a shelf has no value. It has no flavor, it does nothing to alleviate your hunger, and it adds no nutrients to your body to help you grow or give you energy. The value of bread is only realized when it is taken off the self, eaten, and digested. The same can be said about water. It can’t refresh and replenish your system if it remains on the shelf. When Jesus said, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4), He was speaking of the Bread of Life. Jesus is the Word of God personified, and the Holy Spirit is the Living Water He gives. When we take in Jesus (the Word) and His Spirit fully, surrendering to them and allowing them to become a part of us, they have the power to transform us from the inside out. But, in order to do so, they must be taken off the shelf and ingested. Unlike plain bread and water, Jesus and the Holy Spirit satisfy completely, and they never run out.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You created me, and You know better than anyone what I need to grow and thrive. Thank You for providing just what I need, that I may never go hungry or thirsty again. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
Rebecca
