Promise of the Day: Choose Freedom

Free Indeed

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Isaiah 61:1 NKJV:

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”

Free Indeed

Devotion:

Jesus claimed and declared this very prophecy, standing in the Temple over two-thousand years ago. Our chains have been loosed, and the prison doors have been opened. Jesus Christ has paid our debt, not only defeating our enemy, but giving us all authority over him (Luke 10:19). It is finished! Therefore, if any of us remain in bondage to sin–addiction, unforgiveness, bitterness, anger, pride, fear, or anything else–it is because we are choosing to be in bondage. We are choosing prison over freedom. Self over God. Your freedom has been established. Choose this day to let the chains go and step into the Sonlight.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, please forgive me, in Jesus’ name, for clinging to the chains Your Son died to free me of. Examine my heart, oh Lord, and show me anything in my life that I haven’t yet surrendered to You. Help me to repent and learn to walk in Your Truth, that I may truly be free. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
