Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Deuteronomy 7:6 NKJV:
“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”
Devotion:
Yes, you! It doesn’t matter if you can’t trace your bloodline back to Abraham. If you have felt the Father’s tugging on your heartstrings, the Lord God has chosen you! For as many as received His Son have been given the right to be called His children (John 1:12). But what does it mean to be “a holy people?” It means to be set apart. We are no longer to reflect the attitudes and behaviors of the world, but to reflect the attitudes and behaviors of the Savior of the world. You have been chosen to reflect the light of Christ in the world as the moon reflects the light of the sun. You are called to be a beacon in a dark world, because regardless of how the world rails against God, all of creation needs His light.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing me! Thank You for shining brighter in me as I leave the things of the world behind. Make me a beacon, in Jesus’ name, to draw Your lost sheep to You, that they may find pasture and rest in You. That they might truly live. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
