Promise of the Day: Eating Well

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Isaiah 1:19 CJB:

If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good of the land;

Devotion:

That doesn’t sound like a lot to ask. And, in fact, most Christians are willing, otherwise they wouldn’t call themselves Christians. It’s that second part that keeps us from eating the good of the land, regardless of what you hear preached in most churches today. God’s laws are not optional or ala carte. He didn’t throw a bunch of arbitrary rules at us to oppress and enslave us. He gave us a detailed description of who He is, called the Torah, that we might become more like Him. For only God was capable of overcoming Satan. And He gave us His Spirit so we could, too. The more like God we become, the more victorious our lives will be, because we will be one with Him, the One who overcame.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, soften my heart, in Jesus’ name, that I might be willing to hear and obey You. Help me crucify my pride, that I might eat the good of the land, and bring glory to You on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen!

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
