Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Jeremiah 23:29 NKJV:
“‘Is not My word like a fire?’ says the Lord,
‘And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?'”
Devotion:
We all like comfort and peace. But we, the Body of Christ, are not called to be comfortable, we are called to be mature and perfected through the work of Christ on the Cross. If Hebrews 2:10 tells us that God’s very Son was “made perfect through sufferings,” why should it be any easier for us? How can we shine forth as purest gold if we are not refined by the fire? How can we have a soft, compassionate heart like Christ if the hard places in our hearts aren’t melted down and pounded out? If we are to soar on wings as eagles, we must embrace the sanctifying fire, knowing our Savior waits for us in the furnace. We must surrender to the conviction of the hammer, knowing that it is held in the loving hands of our Father, who makes all things new.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Help me walk as one with You, in Jesus’ name. Hand-in-hand with You into Your fullness with love and compassion for my brothers and sisters. Reminding them that You give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. That You may be glorified. Amen.
If you are going through the fire and need a hand to hold, I would be honored to pray for you and encourage you. We’re in this together.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
Rebecca
