Today’s Promise is John 8:36 NKJV:
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
Devotion:
This should be a life-changing statement. Freedom from the bondage of sin. Yet, knowing this truth, I continued living in bondage to certain sin, and destructive behaviors. Some I didn’t even realize until the Holy Spirit revealed them to me. It wasn’t until I was willing to give up these things that I experienced true freedom in Christ. We hang on to things for all kinds of “good reasons.” But, when it comes right down to it, what could be better than freedom? Are you free indeed?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I want to be free. Examine my heart, Lord, and show me the chains that keep me bound. Then, Father, give me the grace to let them go, trusting in Your love and sovereignty, in Jesus’ name, to provide for my every need. Thank You for making me free! Amen.
