Today’s Promise is 2 Timothy 2:16, 17 NKJV:
“But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer.”
Devotion:
If you ever doubt the power of the spoken word, just remember that it brought all of creation into being. The spoken word brought the fall of mankind and a curse upon the earth. And it was the Word (Jesus) that brought redemption. Having been granted grace through the Word, let our conversation be governed by these words alone: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I yield to You my mouth, lips, and tongue. Sanctify them for Your glory, for Your blessing and the blessing of others. Let every word I speak be from You, drawing people to You and expanding Your Kingdom. Use the words that come from my mouth to speak life and love, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
