Promise of the Day: In Jesus’ Name

Today’s Promise is John 14:13 NKJV:

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

This is what comes from abiding in the Lord. From being one with Jesus. When we are one with the Son, we are one with God, because they are one. But sin cannot abide in God’s presence. That is why, every request I make to the Lord begins with a request for forgiveness. For myself. When you are abiding in the Lord, you are keenly aware of your short-comings and failings. But you are also keenly aware of the power of Christ’s blood to cleanse you of all iniquity. This awareness drives you to submit to the conviction of the Holy Spirit and repent of all sin, that you may continue in God’s holy presence. And in His presence, faith abounds, and whatever you ask in His Son’s name, He will do. And the Father will be glorified.

Heavenly Father, I want nothing more than to glorify You. Help me surrender my will to You moment by moment, day by day, in Jesus’ name, and abide in Your holiness, that I may speak and act in faith, demonstrating the power of the risen Christ on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
