Promise of the Day: In the Beginning

In the Beginning

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is John 1:1,2 CJB:

In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.”

In the Beginning

Devotion:

Jesus, our Lord and Savior, didn’t just happen upon the scene 2000 years ago. He wasn’t created by God. He is God. The part of God who gets things done. When God the Father said, “Let there be light!” His strong Right Hand (Jesus) made it happen. When God the Father said, “Let us make man in our own image,” It was Jesus who scooped up the clay of the earth in His strong Right Hand and sculpted the first physical body for the Holy Spirit to breathe life into. And, when God the Father said, “Bring my children back to ME,” It was Jesus who took the sins of the world to the cross. None of this came as a surprise to Him. He knew before He ever picked up that first handful of clay that He would die for what He was about to create. Yet, that didn’t stop Him. Because, in the beginning, there was love.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Your love for me is incomprehensible. I just can’t get my head around it. I only know that You gave Your life, that I may possess that same, selfless love for You and all You created in Your image, that I might truly bear Your likeness. And that, through me, the world may know Your love, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
