Today’s Promise is Proverbs 12:1 NKJV:
“Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge,
But he who hates correction is stupid.”
Devotion:
The knowledge of God is infinite, just as He is infinite. No one on earth can know all there is to know about God. When we seek the person of God, our hunger for Him only grows, driving us to a deeper relationship with Him, keeping us teachable. Even through rebuke and correction. However, when we seek to know about God, our hunger is soon satisfied with facts and head knowledge, and we no longer receive instruction because we think we already know it all. Unfortunately, if we’re not learning, we’re not growing. And if we’re not growing–we are dead.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I want to know You. Holy Spirit, please fill me now, and begin to reveal every beautiful facet of Yourself, my Father, and His Son. Teach me to love Your instruction, in Jesus’ name, that I might grow in Your knowledge, drawing closer to Your heart. Make my hunger for You grow more each day, that I might behold Your glory. Amen!
