Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Psalm 19:8, 9 CJB:
“The Torah of Adonai is perfect,
restoring the inner person.
The instruction of Adonai is sure,
making wise the thoughtless.
The precepts of Adonai are right,
rejoicing the heart.
The mitzvah of Adonai is pure,
enlightening the eyes.”
Devotion:
It’s unfortunate that the word Torah in scripture has been translated law, when the law is only a part of what the word represents. More comprehensively, Torah is the revelation of the essence of God through the written word. Jesus was the embodiment of Torah. When we look at it that way, it’s easy to see how studying Torah, taking in this truth as we would our Daily Bread and applying it to our lives, can bring restoration to our souls, wisdom to our minds, and joy to our hearts. It’s easy to see how obeying God’s mitzvah (command) can give us even greater revelation not only into our Creator, but into our purpose in Him. This Word is true. Written by a man after God’s own heart. A man who knew God like no other and also knew that disregarding God’s Torah results in pain, confusion, sadness, and darkness. He wrote this Word for you. Have you had your Daily Bread today?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank you for Your great love, that You would make such an effort to reveal Yourself to me. Every work of Your hand testifies of Your desire that I know You and know how much You love me. How can I help but love You? I may not understand all the whys and wherefores, but I love You just the same. And I choose to trust in You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
