Today’s Promise is Proverbs 15:1 NKJV:
“A soft answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger.”
Devotion:
A quick tongue is driven by pride, and pride robs us of the blessings God has for us and those we talk to. Whether it’s in person–or on line. The enemy loves this: strife, anger, bitterness . . . Spending more time with the Lord each day will help us to see others as He sees us all. In the light of healing, restorative love. Then we will be more intentional about seasoning our speech with grace and creating unity.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please guard my tongue (and my fingers), in Jesus’ name. Help me to see others through Your eyes, and speak accordingly. Help me to build people up instead of tearing them down, that they may see You at work in me and know You live. Amen.
