Today’s Promise is John 7:17 CJB:
“If anyone wants to do his will, he will know whether my teaching is from God or I speak on my own.”
Devotion:
It is so important for us to know the written Word of God, that we might discern the truth from a lie when we hear it. But it is vital for us to know our Shepherd’s voice. We must learn to be still and listen to the Holy Spirit, always with the purpose of pleasing Him and doing His will. He will not withhold wisdom from those who seek Him diligently. Then we will not be fooled by anyone. Are you listening for your Shepherd’s voice?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are the Creator of my mind. You know intimately its circuitry, chemistry, and capacity, and You also have command over all these things. I surrender my mind to You, Father, asking that You rewire it to be tuned perfectly to Your signal, in Jesus’ name. I don’t want to miss a word You say, Lord. Please, abide in me completely. Amen.
