Today’s Promise is 1 Peter 2:5 NKJV:
“You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
Devotion:
We are very familiar with the fact that Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone, the foundation on which we as God’s temple must stand, individually and collectively. But did you know you have also been called as a “living stone” in that temple? Not chosen by man, for man rejected the Chief Cornerstone, but chosen by God himself. Chosen to be quarried, chiseled, and smoothed. Not to be chiseled into blocks, identical to every other block, but to be perfected in your own uniqueness, until you fit smoothly and seamlessly into the whole. The process of chiseling may not sound very pleasant or glamorous, but the end result is beyond beautiful!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I surrender to Your chisel, in Jesus’ name. Mold me and shape me until I fit perfectly into Your Temple. Help me live to glorify You, knowing that in You, I have all that I will ever need. Amen.
