Today’s Promise is Luke 21:28 NKJV:
“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Devotion:
One spring my husband, daughter, and I tried our hands at fossil digging. As I watched the people around me, intent on their digs, it occurred to me that with all their attention focused on digging up the past, they missed what was happening above ground in the here and now. Many of the signs Jesus told us to watch for are coming to pass today, but we will miss them–and Him–if we don’t leave the past behind and look up!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, if I haven’t asked You to forgive the mistakes of my past, I ask You now, in Jesus’ name. And I ask You to also to forgive those who have hurt me in the past. I choose now to leave my past at the Cross and look up. That is where my future lies–with You! Thank You for giving me a hope and a future to look forward to. Amen.
