Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Judges 1:1, 2 NJV:
“Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass that the children of Israel asked the Lord, saying, ‘Who shall be first to go up for us against the Canaanites to fight against them?’
“And the Lord said, ‘Judah shall go up. Indeed I have delivered the land into his hand.’”
Devotion:
What a powerful reminder that even when events don’t unfold as we imagine they will, God’s children do not go charging ahead recklessly, but inquire of the Lord as to how we are to proceed. And what a powerful reminder that when we do, our Heavenly Father is faithful, not only to show us the way, but to go before us. Seeking God’s will should be the way every Christian starts the day. How much time and energy would be saved if we did? How much more could we accomplish for the Kingdom of God? When we seek God’s will and remain obedient to His direction instead of making assumptions, all of our energy can go towards the battle we are meant to fight, and the faith required to take what the Lord has given into our hands.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You alone know the purpose for which You created me. Help me to seek You every moment of every day, in Jesus’ name, that I might remain at the center of Your will for me, that I may apprehend all that You have delivered into my hand. Thank you, Lord, for Your faithfulness! Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
