Today’s Promise is 1 John 3:1 CJB:
“See what love the Father has lavished on us in letting us be called God’s children! For that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it has not known him.”
Devotion:
What manner of love, indeed! The true children of God are very familiar with the feeling that we don’t fit into this world. Some of us are outcasts in our own families because we have chosen to embrace our true Father and walk in His ways. The enemy wants us to feel alone and isolated, hoping we will forsake our inheritance for the sake of belonging. But take heart. This verse says “us” for a reason. You are not alone. You have the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide you. Make Him your closest ally. You have the hosts of Heaven and a great cloud of witnesses standing for you. Most importantly, you have the Son of God interceding on your behalf. Ask Him, and He will send brothers and sisters to walk with you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I pray that all your children would know in their innermost beings the great love You have for them, and receive the full expression of that love, in Jesus’ name. The love that transforms hearts. The love that saves the world. Make them to know, dear Lord, that they are not alone. Amen.
