Promise of the Day: Oh, What a Day!

Praise and Obedience

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Acts 1:11 CJB:

“The men said, ‘You Galileans! Why are you standing, staring into space? This Yeshua, who has been taken away from you into heaven, will come back to you in just the same way as you saw him go into heaven.’”

Devotion:

I don’t know about you, but when I’m expecting company, I work overtime to make sure my home is clean and welcoming, and I have whatever I need to make my guest feel special, whether it’s their favorite foods, or entertainment. We know with certainty that our Lord is coming back. It’s not “if” but when. This is the best promise in the Word, if you ask me. We may think we need to fix the world to get ready for His return. To clean it up and make it more welcoming. But remember, our God doesn’t make His home in the world, but in our hearts. And that is exactly what we need to be preparing for His return. We need to be practicing His presence here and now, letting His Spirit invade our hearts, minds, and bodies, that we may be sanctified and filled with His power. When we do this, the world around us will feel the effects of His glory and love, and we won’t be the only ones preparing for company.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I can’t wait for the day I see Your Son coming with clouds of glory. Thank You for this promise. Until that day, draw me nearer to Your heart. Cleanse my hands and sanctify my heart, in Jesus’ name. Purify me with Your Holy Fire and make me a holy vessel to carry Your glory on earth, that I may be ready on that wonderful day. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
