Today’s Promise is Romans 5:1 CJB:
“So, since we have come to be considered righteous by God because of our trust, let us continue to have shalom with God through our Lord, Yeshua the Messiah.”
Devotion:
Let us continue … When we come to faith in Jesus as our Savior, our past sins are no longer hanging over our heads. We didn’t have the option of righteousness before, only a covering. But Jesus changed that. God has given us all we need to live holy lives in union with Him, but we still must choose: continue to strive and exert our will over God’s will, which is sin, or submit to His will and enjoy the peace that passes understanding. It seems like an obvious choice, but even in this we need His grace.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to receive and believe in Your justification, in Jesus’ name. Help me to surrender my will to You, that I may rest in Your perfect peace. Amen.
