Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Deuteronomy 5:32-33 NKJV:
“Therefore you shall be careful to do as the Lord your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.”
Devotion:
God spoke these words to His people through Moses after having spared them from destruction for their rebellion. He knew what He was asking was impossible for them, but He wanted them to know that. He wanted them to realize that, apart from the One who is Holy, they could never hope to be holy. So it is for us today. We can never be holy by following a set of rules or traditions. God isn’t holy because of what He does either, but because of who He is. It is God who makes us holy as well. His presence living within us. But God will not inhabit an unclean vessel. That is why He sacrificed His Son, to cleanse us from all iniquity and make a proper home for Himself inside us. This is how He guides us on the right path. We’ve all seen or heard about ministries destroyed when a leader strays from God’s path because they forgot that it was not them but God in them who is Holy. This can happen in life as well. As long as we understand that simple concept, we will stay on the right path We will live, and it will be well with us.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, before You made Your home in me, I was only going through the motions. I didn’t know what love is, or hope, or purpose. But You have redeemed me, giving me all that and more. Now, I can truly live, knowing that You make all things new, including me. Make me dependent on Your Holiness, in Jesus’ name, Father, that Your path may be made bright before me, and I’m never tempted to turn to the left or the right. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
