Today’s Promise is Matthew 17:20 NKJV:
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
I’ve seen many translations and commentaries on this promise. Jesus also compared the Kingdom to a mustard seed. As I’ve prayed about this, the Spirit has impressed one word upon my heart: Potential. In other words, though very small, a mustard seed has the potential to become something enormous, providing rest and shelter. We have already received the seed from the Daddy of all Trees, Romans 12:3, the question is have we planted it in good soil? Are we keeping it watered with the Holy Spirit and fed with Bread of Life (the Word)?
The mustard seed wants to grow, to fulfill its potential, but we have to do our part. We must put our faith into action and let it do what it was designed to do. Because there’s one other thing a mustard tree does when it grows and matures–it produces more seed.
Heavenly Father, I believe. Please, help me in my unbelief. Help me keep my focus on You, in Jesus’ name, that I might be filled with Your confidence and boldness to call into being that which is not. I ask this not only for my sake, Lord, but that others may see Your awesome works and be strengthened in their faith. Use me, oh, Lord, to grow the branches of Your Kingdom, drawing many to Your rest and safety, bringing glory to Your name. Thank You, Lord! Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
