Today’s Promise is 1 Thessalonians 1:5 NKJV:
“For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.”
Devotion:
The Good News is only words without the Holy Spirit turning on the light of understanding in the hearer, and transforming the lives of the hearer and speaker, so that they live according to the words they speak and hear. If we are to be effective instruments of God for His Kingdom, we must be constantly seeking Him, asking for His Spirit to indwell us more and more, that we might impart to others the life-giving power He gives to us and sustains us with.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the life-giving, life-changing power of Your Holy Spirit! I ask as Peter asked, that You would grant unto Your servants that with all boldness we may speak Your Word, by stretching forth Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done in the mighty name of Your Holy Servant, Yeshuah (Acts 4:29, 30)! Amen!
