Today’s Promise is Ephesians 6:10-12 CJB:
“Finally, grow powerful in union with the Lord, in union with his mighty strength! Use all the armor and weaponry that God provides, so that you will be able to stand against the deceptive tactics of the Adversary. For we are not struggling against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.”
Devotion:
Unfortunately, every human conflict, from family disputes to wars, come down to people’s refusal or inability to recognize the spiritual realm, which makes us all the more susceptible the influence of unclean spirits. As believers, it is vital that we achieve and maintain unity with God, because it is His Spirit that opens our eyes to spirit realm. In fact, all the armor and weaponry of God can only be found in the heavenlies: Salvation, Righteousness, Faith, Understanding of the Word, and the True Gospel. Man’s fallen nature makes us vulnerable to unholy influences like pride, fear, lust . . . But, when we are in union with God, we learn to recognize the tactics of the enemy. We can see through the earthly vessels he is using and address the source. In this way we are able to exercise grace to the individual, while focusing our counter attack on the demons using them, where it will actually makes a difference.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I submit to You completely, spirit, soul, and body. Help me stay united with You, that my spiritual eyes and ears may be opened wide. Teach me to recognize the strategies of the enemy and to wield all of Your weapons with power and authority. Most of all, help me to see my brothers and sisters not as enemies, but as Your children in need of Your grace. Thank You for Your good and perfect gifts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
