Today’s Promise is Psalm 1:3 NKJV:
“He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.”
Devotion:
Did you know that this is what you were created for? I know people who believe they don’t deserve a good and prosperous life, but I don’t know of any who want a life of misery and failure–for themselves or their children. That’s because God created us for His pleasure, and He takes no pleasure in our suffering. We fail to thrive when we are out of relationship with Him, which began in the Garden. But our Father didn’t leave it at that. He wants to be with us. He wants to bless us. So, He sent His Son to restore our relationship with Him. By saturating our lives with His Word and prayer through His Spirit, and teaching our children to do the same, we can once more become fruitful trees planted by rivers of water and watch our children grow and prosper.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for giving me a way back to You, that I might walk with You once more and enjoy the blessings You have in store for me and my children. Let me draw closer to You each day through Your Word and prayer, in Jesus’ name, and help me teach my children the joys of knowing You. Amen.
