Promise of the Day: Rest in Him

Rest In Him

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Matthew 11:28 NKJV:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Rest in Him

Devotion:

Does anyone else out there need to be freed from the burden of “What I need to do?” This false belief brings nothing but guilt and self-condemnation. It sucks the joy right out of my life.  I need my time alone with the Lord every day to let Him remind me that all He wants from me–is me. During these hours with Him, when He has my full attention, when I can simply adore Him and soak in His love, I realize that all of my “working” for Him is not about Him at all. It’s about me, and my need to prove myself worthy of Him. Which, of course, I can’t. There is true rest in Jesus, because He has done all that needs to be done. Once we receive Him, it is He who works through us to accomplish His will. We just have to let Him.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I ask that You would help me simply come to You and rest in the peace of being Your child, in Jesus’ name, that I may focus on worshiping You as You complete the good work You’ve begun in me. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
