Today’s Promise is 2 Timothy 1:6, 7 NKJV:
“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Devotion:
If you’ve ever built a fire, you know that you can’t just light it, walk away, and expect it to burn forever. You have to watch it, stir the coals up, and continue to add fuel. So too, the gift of faith. Paul demonstrates here how that is done. When we support, pray for, and encourage one another, we keep each other’s faith burning strong. And when we share our testimonies, we heap logs on everyone’s bonfires, and set new fires with the sparks! So, know that you are not alone. The Lord is with you and so is His family! Be of good courage! Do you know someone who’s faith needs stirring, today?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to be ever mindful of my brothers and sisters who may need their faith stirred. In Jesus’ name, speak to my heart words of encouragement and life that I can pass on to others, and let me never forget to share the testimonies You have given me, proving Your boundless goodness and love that overcomes all fear. Amen.
