Today’s Promise is Matthew 5:17 NKJV:
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.”
Devotion:
The original word here is not “Law” but “Torah,” The very essence of God. His attributes, precepts, holiness, compassion, love . . . and power. Jesus is the embodiment of the living God. The Torah. He came to do what words on a page or from the mouths of prophets could never do. Reunite us with our first and greatest love. No longer to live according to our will, but to live lives of empowered holiness as true children of God–extensions of our Father. Take hold of the Torah with all of your might. Take hold of the right hand of God.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son to prove You are all You have ever claimed to be, and so much more. Help me discover all that You are, in Jesus’ name, through Your Holy Spirit. Help me surrender to You, spirit, soul, and body. Amen.
