Today’s Promise is Colossians 1:26, 27 CJB:
“…the secret hidden for generations, for ages, but now made clear to the people he has set apart for himself. To them God wanted to make known how great among the Gentiles is the glorious richness of this secret. And the secret is this: the Messiah is united with you people! In that rests your hope of glory!”
Devotion:
Too many Christians remain in darkness for fear of the refining fire of God. Afraid of what God might ask them to do or give up. Afraid of leaving their comfort zone and risking embarrassment, ridicule, or ostracization. But, like the purest silver and gold, God’s glory is revealed in and through the smelting process. Through fiery trials, all that keeps God from dwelling fully in us is burned away, making more room for Him. The more we submit to this process, the more He fills us, and in the end, we will shine so pure, we reflect the very face of God! Jesus promised never to leave us, nor forsake us, and He promised never to give us more than we can bear, for it is His very presence that carries us through to the end. God chose you to be united with Him. Take His hand and step into the fire with boldness and confidence. Then get ready to shine!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that I did not choose You, but You chose me to reveal Your secret to and make Your home inside of me. I can’t imagine life apart from You. I may not like the trials You send me through, but I know and trust You are creating something beautiful from what was once broken. Take my hand, Lord, in Jesus’ name, and give me a new song to sing in the flames of Your glory. Amen.
