Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Proverbs 1:32, 33 NLT:
“For simpletons turn away from me—to death.
Fools are destroyed by their own complacency.
But all who listen to me will live in peace,
untroubled by fear of harm.”
Devotion:
If we take God at His Word, that salvation is ours through the work of His Son, Jesus Christ, we must take all His Word. Not just the parts that make us feel good, that are convenient, or politically correct. We must take the parts that say, “Don’t use foul or abusive language,” and “Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life,” and “Always be humble and gentle,” and “be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another.” In other words, the parts that tell us, “You must be holy because I am holy.” With the help of the Holy Spirit, holiness is more than attainable, and along with it, peace and fearlessness. The power of life and death have been given into our hands. Which will you choose today?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, let me not turn away from rebuke. I realize that the enemy will come against me with lies, but I can trust in Your Spirit of Truth to show me what is from You and what is not. Let me meet every reproof with grace and humility, in Jesus’ name, and when I feel the sting of Your correction, whatever the source may be, help me to truly repent, putting off the old man and making room for more of You. Use me, Lord, as an instrument of Your peace. Amen.
Have a victorious day in the Lord!
