Today’s Promise is Luke 3:17 NKJV:
“His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.”
Devotion:
It breaks my heart when professed Christians abandon their faith because God doesn’t do what they want Him to do. Or when they declare their faith in God, but continue to live bound by the spirit of fear. Christianity isn’t a religion. It is a faith. It is trusting in the wisdom and love of our Creator, regardless of our circumstances, because He has promised that all things work for our good. Even now, our God is in the process of threshing, shaking things up to see whose faith is solid, and whose blows away in the slightest breeze. Our God provides all we need to make it into His barn, because it is the desire of His heart that we do so. So great is His love for us that, through His Spirit, He even gives us the faith we lack. Ask, and you will receive.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for helping me in my unbelief. For giving me the faith to stand on Your Word and trust in Your Son. I will cling to You, Lord, in times of trouble, in Jesus’ name, and I will not be shaken. Amen.
