Today’s Promise is Proverbs 12:19 NKJV:
“The truthful lip shall be established forever,
But a lying tongue is but for a moment.”
Devotion:
Jesus is the Truth. And everything that is of Him is truth. Just as Jesus will endure forever, so will those who carry His testimony and speak the truth, because they belong to Him. And we know from Jesus’ own words that Satan is the father of all lies, which tells us that anyone who tells lies, regardless of intentions, belongs to Satan, and like Satan himself, is not long for this world. He and all who follow after him, speaking lies, are doomed to destruction. As long as we walk in and speak the Truth, we need never worry about the lies of the enemy, which even now are fading into oblivion.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for opening my eyes to Your Truth, that I might not be deceived. And thank You for keeping my tongue from lies of any kind, in Jesus’ name, that I might not be used by the enemy to sow deceit. Keep me in Your Truth. Amen.
