Today’s Promise is 1 John 5:18 NKJV:
“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.”
Devotion:
When we receive a robe of righteousness, we are charged with the duty of the gatekeepers of our bodies and minds. We become the temples of the Most High God. Guarding ourselves from receiving or releasing anything that does not glorify God keeps our temples Holy, and God’s hedge of protection around us remains intact. The enemy cannot gain entrance through a breach in that hedge that is opened through sin. When we keep our temples holy, we can be sure that any trials that come upon us come from the hand of a loving God, to grow, mature, and ultimately bless us. Whereas, the enemy, gaining access through doors opened by sin, seeks only to steal, kill, and destroy.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please show me if there is anything in my life that would give the enemy a foothold, in Jesus’ name, Holy Spirit, please convict me instantly of any trespass, and grant me the humility to repent, that I might be a holy vessel to carry Your glory. Amen.
