Promise of the Day: For His Name’s Sake

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is 1 John 2:12 NKJV:

“I write to you, little children,
Because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.”

Devotion:

John wrote this letter not to the unsaved, but to the Church. Those who “knew the Father” and “overcame the wicked one.” No matter how long we have walked with God, we must constantly remind ourselves that it was Jesus’ righteousness that saved us. That nothing we have done or could do can make us worthy to be called children of God. It’s this knowledge that keeps us humble and gains us access to the Father. It drives us to want to please Him and do His will, and in doing so, we overcome the wicked one. When we cling to the Rock, falling just isn’t an option.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ, my Rock, my Anchor, my All. Let me rise every morning with thanksgiving on my lips for the wonderful Lamb of God and His beautiful gift of salvation. Don’t ever let me forget that I did not choose You, but You chose me. And give me the grace to live accordingly, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
