Promise of the Day: Mind Yourself

Mind Yourself

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is 1 Timothy 4:16 NKJV:

“Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”

Mind Yourself

Devotion:

Too many Christians tend to focus on the failings of other Christians. Paul knew the importance of self-examination. One of the benefits of spending time alone with the Lord each day, is having the opportunity to seek the Holy Spirit’s revelation of areas in our lives that are lacking, giving us the opportunity to repent, and be further transformed into Christ’s likeness. We are less likely to judge others when we are mindful of our own inadequacies–and more likely to extend the grace Christ shows us.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me keep my eyes and mind on pleasing You, in Jesus’ name. Help me remember Your patience and forgiveness for me before I think to judge others. And let my speech and actions always be guided by Your Spirit, and not my pride and limited understanding, that I might not lead anyone astray. Amen.

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
