Blessings!
Today’s Promise is Psalm 85:13 NKJV:
“Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.”
Devotion:
Jesus is our righteousness. Our justification remains ever in His presence. We cannot receive His righteousness, then turn and go our own way again and expect to remain righteous. To walk in righteousness is to walk in Him–continually. Notice this promise doesn’t say make His footprints our pathway, which would imply following, but His footsteps. Meaning that where He goes, we go with Him. In Him. And one thing is sure, with righteousness going before Him, Jesus never makes a wrong turn. If we remain in Him, neither will we.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your righteousness! Draw me to your presence, Lord, in Jesus’ name, and make Your footsteps my pathway, that I might remain in Your righteousness and never stray. Amen.
