Promise of the Day: What Sin?

Forgive and Forget

Blessings!

Today’s Promise is Hebrews 8:12 NKJV:

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

Devotion:

This is exactly what the Lord does for those to have repented of their sin and trusted on His blood to wash them clean. Now, if God has chosen to forget our sin, who are we to keep reminding Him? Or to remind others of their past failings? We must stand firm on this promise every  time the enemy tries to drag us through the mud again! This is just one scripture that should be in our arsenals against the lies of the enemy. Know the Word and use it! The instant a thought of sin you have repented of enters your mind, take its head off with your mighty Sword of the Spirit!

What if it’s another person who keeps raking up the muck? First of all, remember who the true accuser is. Satan has no end of people willing to be his mouthpiece. Deal with him on God’s terms, not his. Rebuke the person (with love) and remind them of what God’s Word says about you. Not even Satan can argue with God’s Word, but he can smell doubt a mile away. So, if you’re not sure God’s forgiveness is for keeps, press in to Him until you are.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your beautiful gift of forgiveness! I repent in Jesus’ name for each time I’ve entertained doubts and self-condemnation for sins You have long since forgotten. And I choose to forgive anyone who has allowed Satan to use them to cause me shame and doubt. Lord, please seal my heart with Your Truth, that I might not be tempted back into sin. That I might know beyond a shadow of doubt that You have made me clean, and I am free to pursue the path of righteousness! Amen!

Have a victorious day in the Lord!
